Corporate History

Fribourg & Treyer Snuff blends are considered “Demi-gros” varieties and date back to 1720. As a result of a rent increase on their shop they closed the premises in the early 1980's as it was considered not to be financially viable. Fribourg & Treyer was bought by Imperial Tobacco, who then sold their snuff recipes to Wilsons. Fortunately, Wilsons continue the Fribourg & Treyer tradition and produce their snuff using the original blend recipes.
