The last variety is the “Gros” and is also the least common of the 3 varieties. “Gros” snuffs are usually coarser ground snuffs and are heavily flavored. Most German schmaltzers are “Gros” varieties of snuff and as of late, are beginning to make a comeback among snuff aficionados. “Gros” snuffs also tend to be on the moist side and are much harder to use correctly. It takes a fait amount of sniffing to get the tobacco to the front of the nose and the “Pinch” method is not recommended for these snuffs. That brings us to how to use snuffs correctly! |
